Can I get my iPhone replaced?
I got my iPhone 5C from Verizon with the Edge contract. But I shattered it in an Otterbox case. The phone works, but the screen itself is cracked all along the screen. My mother says we don't have insurance on it, but surely there's something that we can do that's not ridiculously expensive.
Take it an Apple store and see what they tell you.

Sorry, the words Apple and inexpensive do not go in the same sentence. Impossible. You're not far enough in your contract to use Edge yet. Applestore doesn't care. Applecare only covers defects, not damage caused by you. You have no insurance. Verizon doesn't care either. They want you to just pay the bill. You'll have to get the screen replaced at a local good phone repair shop. That can run $150 easy. Buy the parts and do it yourself cheaper.
Still better than Apple's $269 repair.
