Can I put T-Mobile nano sim in iPhone 6 that was used for sprint?

Hi, I decided to already try this. The person who was using the 6 got a 6S from sprint and is already using service on it. I took the nano sim out of my iPhone 5 and put it in the 6. It took a minute for it to load, but then the upper left corner said LTE and then finally, it loaded the Wi-Fi bars and service dots/ said T-Mobile. I texted someone from it and then we re able to respond.

Is there anything I should be worried about not working? Is this considered "unlocked"? IIm worried that there are a couple features that might not work or something.

Although Sprint and T-Mobile use incompatible network technologies, you are lucky that the iPhone 6 just happens to use both.

However, it's possible that even though your phone can use the higher speed LTE (4G), it might not be able to use 2G and 3G of T-Mobile in areas where LTE is not available, like a normal phone would do. You'll have to experiment some more to find out. If this is the case, when you are not in an area with LTE, you won't get any service at all.

No problem. Your nanoSIM either works or it doesn't. When it does the details of the phone are sent back to T-Mobile and their servers quietly send any updated service book settings to that phone automatically to enable things like data and MMS.

You appear to have an unlocked phone.

  • Will tmobile swap my micro sim to the nano sim for iPhone 5? Basically I have an iPhone 4 under contract until October 2013, but if I buy an iPhone 5 on pay as you go, will t mobile swap my micro sim to a nano sim whilst I'm under contract?
  • Will T-Mobile have nano-sim cards when the new iphone comes out? I want to buy an unlocked new iphone when it comes out and use it for T-Mobile, but since the new iphone will most likely be using nano-sim cards. I want to know if T-Mobile will have nano-sim cards by the time the new iphone is released.
  • What stores sell nano sim cards for sprint? I have an Iphone 5c that's connected to sprint. I don't think it's unlocked, but what I'm wondering is. I'm stuck at the activation screen on the phone, and I can't do anything, because I don't have a sim card. So instead of buying one online, and having to wait 11 days. I thought why not just go pick one up. I called sprint and they said they don't sell them. So where could I buy one in store?
  • I have a verizon iPhone 5 & I cut down a straight talk sim to nano sim?
