Can I reset my router from my laptop or iphone?

Can I reset my router from my laptop or iphone?

Added (1). I don't want a reboot, just a simple reset.

Yes. Go to 192.168.X.Y and login to your router. Then do a reboot of the router.

Yes.

Make sure you really mean reset. A reset will take it back to the factory defaults. If you are connected by Wi-Fi, which is most likely for both a laptop and an iPhone, and you have set up your own Wi-Fi settings, then you will lose connection as the router will revert to the factory Wi-Fi settings.

To answer your question, most routers will allow you to log on to them and reset them to the factory settings. They will also allow you to restart (reboot) the router. You will need to know the logon password to get to the router's configuration management section from a networked device.

To reset router you have to press tiny button on the back panel of the router. You need small pin to press reset button.

It's almost always the cable modem. For that you have to unplug it for 30 seconds. So no you can't reset your connection from the laptop or phone.

If you want to reset the router and or settings. Type 192.168.1.2 or whatever your router address is into the browser and login.

It depends on the router, some routers allow a simple reset/reboot within the software without returning it to defaults, my asus router has software has this. You would need to log into the router to check
Otherwise you would have to get someone to power cycle the router

  • What's the difference between a cheap router and a good router? Just wanted to know the difference between a cheap router and an expensive router, I know that is a very broad question, I'm just a bit confused on how a router works. Does it increase my Internet speed on multiple devices? I get 50Mb per second, Well at least that's what I pay for. I have a PS3 two iPhones and a tablet, as well as a desktop PC that is wireless. Can anyone recommend an excellent router under $150

And it will not allow me to visit my IP address. I have a toshiba with windows vista, help?
