Can I retrieve data off a dead iPhone?

I was gonna get a new phone, but i dropped my old iPhone in a pool. It doesn't work anymore and i was wondering if there was anyway i can retrieve pictures or more importantly contacts from a dead iPhone.

P.S. How much do you think i can sell my iPhone 5s off ebay if it doesn't work

The good thing about being lazy about doing backups is that it will be a good learning experience, because you will lose everything you had on your phone.

CHances you will get your data are close to zero. And it has essentially no value to sell.

If the phone will not power on, you can't save anything that was on it, unless you decide to pay a data recovery company several hundred dollars JUST to try retrieving data, and more if they actually do recover anything.

A buddy spent over a $1000 bucks to recover data from a work phone that fell in the water off of a charter boat he was on in Hawaii. Salt and Chlorine are the worst two things to happen to the insides of a cell phone, because just drying the phone out, does not stop the damage that corrosion will do to the metal and connectors inside the phone.

So hopefully you backed up everything you consider important on a regular bases. Otherwise there was nothing important on that phone, no matter what you say now.
