Can i sue cell phone company?

I've had my number for years and recently changed it a few months ago. I have a iPhone, my old number i can receive iMessage & FaceTime. My new number i receive calls. I recently found out someone now has my old number also. Can I sue the company because all my personal information is being sent to the other number owner also? If so, how do i do so?

Are you paying for both numbers or just the new one? If you're only paying for the new one then the cell company had every right to give your old number to a new customer.

What do you think the service provider has done negligently? You asked them to change your number. They did. They gave your old number to someone else. This is quite normal and is done every day. If the people you know are still calling your old number, you have to let them know you've changed it. I don't see any suit in your future.

Phone numbers aren't like mail… They aren't forwarded from one number to another. You have to notify people.

No, not if you gave up your old number or are no longer paying for service under that number.

That's like suing someone who buys your house but you don't put in a change of address with the post office. You abandoned your old number. TFB if you failed to tell important people your new number.

No. It is YOUR responsability to make sure all your contacts have your new number.

Cell phone numbers get "recycled", often in as little as 30-60 days after they are no longer in use.
