Can I transfer my iPhone to a prepaid? If so, how?

Ok. So I have an iPhone, and my mom got really upset with AT&T and all the surprise extra charges and stuff, so she just ended up canceling the whole thing. We all had iPhones except for my mom, my mom got a galaxy SIII, so the rest of us got the iPhone 4 (except my dad, he got the 4s) and my mom ended up finding a way to switcher her galaxy SIII to prepaid with straight talk, so now she doesn't worry about all the expensive bills and so on… The rest of us however, got switched to prepaid and ended up with these cheap little prepaids that practactly do nothing. And she said if it was possible, we could switch our iPhones over if we wanted. So the other day I went online to just search some of this out. All the prepaid plans I looked at, have the iPhone4 displayed for sale at like over $400 dollars! So I already have an iPhone, so rather than paying for a whole other phone, can I just switch over this one I have now? What are some good company's?

Of course you can take your iPhone to Straight Talk. It's called the BYOP (bring your own phone) plan and just about everyone is doing it when their contract is up cause it's so much cheaper. But you can't stream, tether, or watch videos or play games unless you are connected to wi-fi cause they will terminate your service if you do.
AT&T also has a company called GoPhone and you can sign up with that. They'll import all your contacts on your sim. Unlimited talk/text and 2 gb of data is $60 a month. I have it and I love it!
Do not go with Net10. Even though they are owned by the same company that owns Straight Talk, they are horrible and screw up payments and their customer service is the WORST.
You can unlock your phone and take it to MetroPCS if you are in one of their service areas. You can also take your phone to AIO which is a subsidiary of AT&T. You can go to T-Mobile if you have an unlocked phone. Boost and Virgin work off Sprint towers and they are NOT compatible with your phone since your phone is gsm and they are cdma.

  • Where can i get a good prepaid cell phone plan with data for my iphone 4? I have an iphone 4, with an at&t go phone sims.at&t says the only way i can get internet is if i'm connected to Wi-Fi. Why is that? I have unlimited, talk, text &web plan & my phone i used before was not a smart phone
  • When I unlock my iphone can I use a prepaid SIM card when I travel? I live in Germany and a friend sold me her iphone 3gs when her contract was up. She said the phone would be unlocked after a certain date but it hasn't yet. If i do this myself will I be able to use any SIM card? I have 1and1 for phone service and when I travel to the states I get a prepaid SIM from tmobile. Will these work on the iphone too?
  • What's a prepaid phone? Can IPhones be prepaid? I'm going to buy an IPhone 4 from my friend and i'm wondering if it can be prepaid? If so do I need anything like a sim chip? & It's not on contract… Or could I just go on a plan without being on a contract?
  • Iphone transfer to Prepaid phone? I want an iphone on a pre paid carrier. Preferably at&t pre paid cause they have good coverage. The iphone will be used. Is it possible? Should I buy a verizon, sprint, or an at&t phone to make it easier? How hard is this process?
