Yes you can do this. BUT, if it were me, I would only deal with a LOCAL unlocking service. You can check the internet, Craigslist, local cell phone repair shops, for LOCAL walk in options for getting your phone unlocked.
This way you know where they are if there's an issue, and they can often do the unlock while you wait or within a couple of hours if they have to deal with a service they use offsite.
