Can I use an iPhone 5c without data plan?
So I got a bit of extra cash and my iTouch 4 seems too old.
I can't do a lot of stuff on it, and plus it's getting old. Lots of apps can't be downloaded as well.
So yeah I already have a phone, not an iPhone, and I'm wondering if I could get an iPhone 5c and use it like an iTouch?
Like without any data plans and such, so I'm basically asking if I could walk into the Apple Store, buy the 5c for $99 and $99 only (16gb) and open it up to a useable iTouch.
Of course I know I won't be getting phone/text services that way.
You can do this, but you have to pay full price. The $99 price is for a 2 year contract.

My friend has been doing this for a while with a hand-me-down iPhone 3 he has. Does this also work with an iPhone 4? Another friend has given me her old iPhone 4 that I would like to use but I do not want to pay for a data plan when I could just use Wi-Fi. My carrier is AT&T and the phone is an AT&T phone as well.
