Can I wiped stolen iPhone still show up on Find my Phone?
I had my iPhone stolen, I have been attempting to keep track of it via find my phone app. But all it shows is that it is offline. It's been a while and I have been told that the phone has most likely been wiped. I figured that if a phone is wiped it would go away from my personal find my phone. Is this true? Or does it stay on my account until I remove it.
Also if my phone was wiped/jailbroken is my data safe? Or does jailbreaking it allow them to see all my data. (I changed my passwords soon after theft)
Depends, the new iOS7 only allows you to erase the phone after the Apple ID password has been inputed afterwards, otherwise it stays there. This isn't the case for anything below iOS7 where a thief can just wipe the phone and it's gone.
- My iPhone was stolen, can I still find it? My iPhone was stolen at the airport! Can I still track it on find my phone if the location services are turned off? (Stupid me turned it off thinking it would help my privacy). Also, a while ago I noticed there was an option to turn off the find my phone feature. If they turned that off could that make it impossible to find? Lastly, if I have insurance will it cover a stolen phone?
