Can my data be accessed if iphone battery gets replaced?
My iphone 3gs finally stopped recharging and instead of getting the battery replaced, I want to auction it off. However, I need to know if this is a good idea because I don't want someone accessing the data that is on there. Is there a way to either take out of wipe the phone without buying a new battery?
Added (1). When I plug it in, it doesn't register on the computer because the battery is dead. "plug it in and wipe the data" is not a helpful response. What are the steps?
There's an option in Settings to erase all content & settings, but if the phone can't be used then you can't access that option. So you'd have to see about the battery 1st.
Plug it in and wipe the data.
Painful as it is, try to attempt to leave it plugged up to a PC or laptop or wall for a few days. Yes, days. Ultimately you'll have to have some power to access the Settings to erase and put back to factory specs. Many of the 4's now are becoming that way and can take up 30 mins once plugged up to even read as charging. Hopefully that won't cost you a new battery. Best luck.
- When my iPhone 6 screen is replaced by apple, will the home button be replaced as well? Ever since I updated to iOS 9 on my iPhone 6, the home button has been totally unresponsive. On top of this, my phone was recently stepped on and the screen was shattered. I plan on paying the $109 to have the screen replaced from apple, but does that replace the home button too? I've heard that when the front screen panel is replaced, so is the home button/touch id.
- Websites accessed without wi-fi? When my iPhone 5 is connected to the my wi-fi, I can access many other sites, but not this one: http://www.bada.tv/common/app/movie.html. But for a strange reason when I'm disconnected to my own wi-fi, and use 3G I can access that site easily. Can someone explain why this is?
- Somebody has accessed my secured WPA home network with no password whatsoever? Two nephews at home… One needed the password, one could access my very own home network with no password whatsoever, and did so on another network. What sorcery is in his iPhone? I'm very worried. Again, it seems he can access networks ignoring their security, happened at least twice, not just my own network.
- Sold iPhone 4 but now worried about whether the data can be accessed? My boyfriend just sold his old iphone 4 to a friend, and instead of wiping it out by going to settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase all content and settings, he just manually deleted all the pictures, apps, web history etc. He also left the password lock on and told his friend what the code was. Is there a possibility of his friend being able to recover what was on his phone? Or was his manually erasing everything good enough to ensure that his data and stuff won't be accessible
