Can my iPhone 4s v 6.0.1 be jailbroken (untethered)?
I'm okay with downgrading it and jailbreaking it untethered. But is that possible? And if it is can I have some instruction?
It's very easy to downgrade and jailbreak your iPhone 4S on version 6.0.1. Go to this website, http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750, and find the 6.0.1 firmware. Once you've downloaded the firmware, go into iTunes and once iTunes has detected your iPhone, hold Shift and click "Restore". A window will pop up where you can locate the firmware you want to downgrade to.
Once it's been downgraded, you could go download RedSn0w and use that to jailbreak, as that is a very popular untethered jailbreak tool. The entire process may take a while, especially with the firmware download, as those are big files, and they can take up to 2 or 3 hours to download.
Anyway, that's really all you have to do. It may seem very tricky, but it's not really that bad, believe me. I've done it many times myself.
