Can't see Iphone in itunes under devices when plugged in?

I tried to restart my computer as well, no luck. Tried my ipod can syn all well but iphone can't.

Added (1). I tunes is not letting me update either. I went to:- under help "check for updates"
It says Itunes update server could not be contacted. Please check your internet connection or try later again… I'm able to browse online no problem. Is it some settings need changing?

I've had that problem afew times with my ipod and iphone over the times.here is some of the things what i normally try
restart itunes
unplug iphone then plug it in again
restart computer
try a different usb cable

Maybe you need to update iTunes? Try see if it needs an update if not check your wire when its connected to the iphone and computer play with it

  • My iPhone 3G won't reconnect when plugged into iTunes? So I accidentally disabled my iPhone, right? It says to plug into iTunes to reconnect. I plugged it in to an iTunes user which isn't registered with the phone (the old computer crashed), but I thought it would still work. When I plugged it in, iTunes came up with a box saying "You must enter password before connecting with iTunes." But the screen of my phone still says "Connect to iTunes." Incredibly obnoxious. Any clue what to do?

I've tried multiple USB cables and ports, reset my iPod and computer, I'm currently uninstalling iTunes and re-installing it… Any suggestions? It won't even charge. It makes a noise when it's plugged in but it doesn't do anything to the actual phone.
  • IPhone Plugged in to other iTunes and Info shared? I'm now being a little bit paranoid, I just bought an iphone and just now my sister connected my iphone to his mac book with itunes and my phone just change the device name to her device name. Then suddently there's alot of APP waiting to be installed in my phone, I manually deleted all. Do you think there's any info shared with her? When someone message me will it go to her aswell?
  • IPhone not showing up under devices? I plugged my iPhone 3GS into my computer today and it didn't show up under devices. I was adding music from CDs to iTunes but I couldn't sync them to my phone because it didn't show up under devices. It charged so I know the USB cable is fine. How do I make it show up?
