Can't afford to refund a buyer on eBay?
I sold an iPhone for £70 and the buyer says that they are not happy because the battery doesn't work and the back is damaged, I listed that the back was damaged in the description but didn't know about the battery, now the buyer is asking for a full refund but I spent all the money and I can't afford to refund, should I tell them and ask if I could pay by the end of the month? They said that they would open a case If I didn't refund and I don't know what to do, at first she asked if I would pay £20 to get the back fixed but then she said that there was something wrong with the battery and asked for a full refund.
If eBay paid her back would I have to pay ebay back? How long would I have to pay it back? I have no money at all and I'm really worried.
Why would you spend that money… If ebay pays them, your account will b suspended and if you don't pay ebay back, your account would be send to collection, and your credit score would be ruined. Ask to see if you can replace the batteries for her, if not, contact ebay customer services and see what alternatives you have
It's not that you WILL not refund them is it, so message them through ebay - so there's a record of all correspondence - and explain honestly. Ask if you can pay in instalments. Buyers have up to 45 days to open a case so you do have a bit of time. Also contact ebay through the help centre and explain. If you are totally honest and everyone can see you are trying to make it right nobody can make trouble for you. Make sure that you state clearly that you agree the buyer is entitled to a refund.
Yes PayPal/Ebay will require you to pay them back. If you do not, it will be passed to debt collectors and that will add their charges and interest onto the bill.
Time to borrow some money off your family.
Sounds like you sold her a dodgy phone so now she will open a case with eBay, they will then refund her the full money and then they will come after you to give them back that money that you spent.
- Ebay buyer wants refund back? I sold my iphone 4s on ebay a few weeks ago and today the buyers emails me saying that the phone's Wi-Fi didn't work and it was water damaged. I have never spilled any liquids on my phone or dropped it so I know they are lying, I'm willing to refund their money back but I'm worried that they will send me a defective phone. What should I do?
- Do I have to give a refund to ebay buyer? I'm in a big situation. This lady bought an iPhone from me and I shipped it off in an envelope. I even added a tracking number so she can see it when it would arrive. Problem is, she said she received it, but there was nothing inside the envelope. Do I have to give her a refund or am I not at fault? On the receipt, it shows that the weight of the envelope had something in there. Is that enough evidence, or am I forced to lose out on money?
- Can i get a refund from ebay for false advertising? I bought an iphone that said the warranty would not be activated until i activated the phone but the warranty was already activated… And if i can get a refund do i have to send the phone back and pay the shipping?
- Can eBay issue full refund for item to be sent back? I bought an iPhone and it wouldn't turn on even after plugging it into itunes. I filed a complaint/case and i want a partial refund so i can fix it myself because i want the item. He insists to having myself issue a full refund of $310 but i'm asking for $150 or $100, i really want to keep the item so i can fix it, he really wants me to close the case but i will not. Any tips? And after the case escalated can eBay force me to make a full refund to send the item back?
