Can't hear phone calls through my iPhone?

So. I had a little accident with my iPhone (dropped it).It was in its otter-box case and I thought it was fine but now, whenever I answer a phone call a muffled pop noise happens and I can't hear the other person or even hear the call being dialed itself unless its on speaker or I have the headset in. This is my replacement iPhone from the insurance - so how do I go about getting this fixed without paying $200+ dollars to Apple?

Side note: (Nothing's cracked, the speakers work - the mic works when it's on speaker I just can't hear the other person during a regular call unless I put it on speaker.)

Sounds like you damaged it. Take it in to Apple and see what the reps have to say about it. Unless you want to open the phone up and replace the part… You really have no other option.

I don't want to condone fraudulent behavior, but it's up to you whether you want to tell Apple the device was dropped or not. Assuming it is still under warranty, they usually replace the devices. If it is out of warranty, well you'd have to get real lucky for Apple to replace it.

  • IPhone 5 volume very low? Can't hear calls? When the phone rings, you can hear it very clearly.same goes for message tones etc. but when it comes to trying to talk to someone on the phone, I can hardly hear a thing. The volume is very low. I've tried putting the volume up but it already says it's on the highest volume.what's the problem here? nothing's covering the speaker.
