IPHONE-when I make a phone call I can't hear the caller and the caller can't hear me?
When I make a phone call I can't hear the caller and the caller can't hear me. Also, when i try to put it on speaker, it goes off speaker in a couple seconds. I can't even hear the dial tone or the voice box if a person doesn't answer.
- my volume is all the way up
- i don't have my phone on do not disturb or airplane mode
This is either a very easy solution or more complicated. When the iPhone senses an object near it by watching for changing in lighting, when it's on speaker it automatically switches to the ear mode. Try putting your phone on speaker and placing it away from you.
Should contact your carrier about that 1st.
Do Not Disturb prevents you from knowing about the call (in most cases) in the 1st place, not about hearing once you start the call.
Airplane Mode works much the same since it disables the radios used to be able to receive/place calls in the 1st place.
That's a coincidence. I made a phone out of a piece of wood and I have exactly the same problem.
- Why can't anyone hear me when I make a call on my Iphone 4? It doesn't seem to matter what I do. I can put headphones in that have a mic, I can use speaker and I can put it on normal calling but nobody can ever hear me. Is this a hardware or software issue?
