Can the police track a stolen iphone 5 without the simcard?
My friend got her phone stolen.
Her location services were on but now the phone is turned off.
Is it possible for the police to track where the person turned it off last if the sim cards taken out?
please help!
Added (1). Also, what if the person breaks the iPhone and takes out the simcard. Is it trackable at all?
Only if they get a court order, they could have the wireless company triangulate it with their towers, but they won't, its not considered valueable enough.
your best option is just report it stolen so its blacklisted and move on.

It got stolen and when I looked it up yesterday and today on family locator(verizon) I was able to find an area location on where it is. It doesn't give me the exact address though. In one part she takes the SIM card out of the phone so no one can track it. But is that also true with iPhones? Like of you take the SIM card out can the police still track your phone. Because I was think yes because it has your number. But is that true? It's not traceable if you take the SIM card out. But if not is there a way and how?
