If you track your stolen iphone will the police retrieve it for you?

My iphone was stolen last night its yet to be turned on but using the find my iphone app i should be able to find the address, the problem is that the whoever took it is not going to willingly give it back, and the people i have an idea of who took it are quite intimidating, thank you.

Nope, i'm a policeman, and if your in australia or newzealand, we don't give a ***.It's your own problem.

Its not likely the police will retreive it for you unless you have a friend thats a police…

Perhaps a pragmatic solution would be

if you can track it to a particular house

knock on the door and offer a fifty dollar reward for it

tell them youre not interested in involving the police but you will contact them right now and wait for them to arrive

but

they can make it all very easy by just handing it over and youll give them 50 bucks

good result for you if it works

Contact your local police (don't dial 911) go to the station or call the non emergency #. Report your phone stolen and tell them of the find my phone app and they will tell you how to proceed. Police handle this differently around the country.

Yes the cops will help you if you know where it is

You can always try

your best bet would be to locate the phone address and then try to determine if that is the home of the thief

then keep a look out for a policeman and try to get him to assist from his car

if you call the station, they most likely will not send a car

Because I was think yes because it has your number. But is that true? It's not traceable if you take the SIM card out. But if not is there a way and how?
