Can you buy an iPhone without buying a contract?
I currently have an iPhone 3G, and I want to upgrade to the 4S. However, my cell company (TMobile) does not have a deal with Apple. I would like to buy an iPhone for the advertised price (not the unlocked price of $500+) and unlock it myself. Is there any way I can buy an iPhone from Apple without buying a plan with AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint?
A contract-less phone and an unlocked phone are going to be the same price. The reason it's so cheap is because they basically loan you the phone and you pay it off over the course of your contract.
The only other option is buying the 4S on Ebay.
They usually average around 300-370$.
- Will buying an iphone in contract and unlocking cause contract immediate fee? If i buy a iphone for example on att contract and unlock it, will att charge me what's left on the contract or will i just go by like nothing happened and free of contract? I haven't seen this but it makes quite a bit of sense for companies… Not sure if they do however.
- Is it better to buy a iphone with a contract or without a contract? Because with a contract you have to pay monthly fees $60 - $100 and without a contract you pay more for the phone without the monthly fees
- If you buy an iphone 5 on a network with a contract can you leave? Like if I were to buy the iPhone 5 on a contract with sprint and then took the SIM card out and left there network to go to somewhere else would that work? But I also heard it illegal to "unlock" your phone or whatever
- Can you change phones on sprint without canceling your 2 year contract? If so how much will they charge you? How much will they charge you? I want the galaxy s 3 or s4 and i have a 2 year plan i have the iphone 4s i have around 6 or 7 months with my 2 year pla
