Can you change carriers for an iphone 4s from verizon?

Hi! I have an iphone 4s which. I got from a friend, it does not have that little whole on the side… Which i consider thats for sim card slot. Its version 6.1.3(10B329)
Modem firmware 3.0.04

I would like to change it to tmobile or walmart. Family mobile plans… Please Help!

Verizon uses CDMA. T-mobile uses GSM networks.

Lets just say that it should. Verizon iPhone 4s use CDMA but they do have a SIM card slot for GSM sim cards. Verizon will even unlock your iPhone 4s for you. What they don't tell you is that it is only unlocked for international use. The only way to use T-Mobile on a Verizon iPhone 4s is to jailbreak it and use a SIM card imposer like Gevey Ultra, R-SIM or GPP

If it doesn't have a SIM slot on the right side of the phone, it's not an iPhone 4S, it;'s iPhone 4 and it can't be unlocked. It can only be flashed to other CDMA carriers like StraightTalk, Virgin, Boost, MetroPCS, etc. Check online for flashing Verizon iPhone 4 to other carriers.

  • When do US carriers (AT&T, Verizon, etc) lower the price of older model iPhones? Usually when a new iPhone comes out, the previous years model gets discounted by about $100. Does this price change usually happen when the new iPhone is announced, or is the price drop not effective until a few weeks later when the new model actually becomes available for sale?

( 2 years ago when I traveled out of US, I had to call verizon for a "international unlock" on the iphone 4S i had, do I have to do the same for iphone 5s?)
