Can you cut a normal sim card into a micro?
I want to get an iphone on contract but it costs too much so i thought that maybe i could buy a cheap contract and get the card cut to fit the iphone. Will this work? Have you done it? I live in the uk if that helps with anything

is about 3-5 pounds incl postage.
The cut it makes is very harsh - and can cause the Micro/mini SIM to get stuck in the SIM slot (!)

So much better to ask the network for a replacement one, which has shaped (Chamfered) edges, to prevent it getting stuck.
You can go to most networks (usually their website) and enter the new SIM card number to swap it over in seconds (they warn hours - but usually takes seconds), and if needed swap it back also.
Just ask the network help line to send a new one to you, for the correct size (usually free)
