Can you go dead from loud music or too much music?
My friend says I will be deaf before the end of high school. I sometimes have to say what to people 2-3 times a day. Listen to music up all the way up with earbuds on iPhone. Only listen to it halfway this week.
Dead? I doubt it. But you can definitely suffer hearing loss. Constant bombardment by loud noise can damage your hearing.
There's no question at all that what you're doing is very dangerous. Earbuds themselves are one of the most irresponsible inventions of all times. Placing speakers directly into the ear canal is disaster waiting to happen. As a musician my ears are precious to me. I protect them carefully. I can't understand why people who love music intentionally risk damage to the same ears that allow them to hear the music. It just baffles me.
I suppose if the music was loud enough it could rupture your skull.

- My new Bluetooth earpiece is way too loud - what can I do? I just got a Bluetooth HE09B earpiece to use with my iPhone 5. It works well except the volume is VERY high - even when my phone is turned way down, to less than one notch! The earpiece has no volume control and the instructions say to change the volume on the phone. Is there any way I can reduce the minimum volume on either the device or my phone to fix this problem?
- Listened to loud music now have a muffled ear? So i got Beats Studio by dr.dre. I put them in and i didn't know my iphone was on loud. We the beats made that noise LOUD. It was only for like 2 seconds but i took them off obviously. Now in my right ear its muffled. I'm only 14. Help! What did i do or is their any action i should take! Please!
