Can you legally be suspended for a text prank?
Hi, i'm sure you all know about the effective power prank that shuts off an iPhone if sent. My question is if you send it to someone can you LEGALLY be suspended for it? In my old school my friend did it to another kid in which he began to cry. Not sure what happened to the first kid.
You can be suspended for anything the school wants to suspend you for.
You can LEGALLY be suspended for anything that's against your school's rules. Those are the terms to which your parents agreed when they signed you up for school. The school would just be enforcing the contract.
I guess it depends on the principal, if the kid who did it is very sorry and ashamed and promises not to do it again, and the principal is understanding then I guess it would be ok, but the kid must be responsible and tell the principal. I'm sure it will be ok, if he did. I wouldn't say he would get suspended. I don't know how serious the prank was. I don't know, I know you can get suspended for cheating at University, but I don't really know how it works in schools. Or, if the kid doesn't feel comfortable speaking to the principal, perhaps tell the tutor (a teacher that is also expert in tutoring, I guess).
Edit: Why would you wanna do it, just go and study IT at University later on, don't waste school years like that. You can learn some proper coding instead, if you like this type of stuff. Look up how to fix the bug in the Iphone, so that prank texts don't happen anymore, and you can make your own brand of phone and sell better than the Iphone!
Actually you could offer to fix the Iphone of the kid who received the text.
Yes, you could. Technically, it's not a prank. It's a cybercrime, or cyber bullying - and you're doing something destructive to someone else's property. You're doing it over the internet, hence the cyber.
So yes. You could get suspended.
Conduct Causing School Suspension
Students can typically be suspended or expelled for:
Drug, alcohol or weapons possession
Violence against students or teachers
Obscene or vulgar acts or language
Stealing or destruction of property
Repeated disruptive behavior
Many schools have recently added bullying, hate crimes, sexual harassment and harassment or bullying by electronic means (computers, cell phones) as conduct justifying expulsion.

Can you legally be suspended
There's NO law on the issue. It makes ZERO difference how you finish the sentence.
- Wrong text prank, guy with gauges? Hi! I can't seem to find a text prank online. I've seen it before, and it seems pretty common. I think it's an iPhone text, and the original texting is in his young teens, with not too good of grammar. At the end, the "troll" guy sends a picture of himself, derping with plugs/gauges. Any help would be appreciative!
- When someone gives you something, is it yours legally? Basically, my (now ex) boyfriend gave me 2 phones while we were together. One was because i lost one my phones and the other one was a gift. He never mentioned that i would have to give either of them back if and when we broke up. But now we have he is demanding i give them back. He has a perfectly good working IPhone 4S. So do i have to give them back or are they legally mine? Because neither me or my dad have money to buy me a new phone at the moment.
- Receive texts on suspended cell service? I suspended my Verizon mobile contract last month due to a move to another country, and it is still in effect. However, I received a text message from an American number and I have no idea how it happened. My iPhone has no service, it even says it at the top right corner. Any ideas?
- My verizon iphone service is suspended, can I still text? My mom suspended my phone's service, is it possible to still use my iphone on Wi-Fi to text, check facebook, etc.
