Can you rate my photography? - 1

I'm a new photographer and have only used an iphone until I got my canon eos rebel t5i. I took these pictures today messing around with exposure, shutter, and iso. How are they?

"Rating" you at this early stage would be quite unfair. You do not yet have a grasp on your histogram readings, white balance or composition. Give yourself some time to learn before you ask for a critique. You will be better off.

I really like 2.

but it looks like your pictures are a little dark. Keep practicing and youll get better. BUt remember art is subjective. Take pictures for you not anyone else. Be creative

Perki88 is right. For now, just enjoy your new camera and forget about how your photos rate on some arbitrary scale. Just go out there and shoot.

"Rating" you now would be absurd. It would be like "rating" what kind of an athlete a child is when they first start walking. You have a lot to learn, and people telling you when you are just starting that your photography is bad is no way to start.

Here is a good book you should purchase to learn to use your camera properly:

Lighting & images are 'flat', most look underexposed and there's no thought to composition or strong, compelling subject matter.

The above is not meant to knock your ego or belittle you - you asked for (presumably) an honest opinion.

They are what I would expect of a total beginner. 'Messing around' with settings is pointless unless you know what you are doing. You need to learn the basics of exposure, lighting & composition & then go out & practise what you have learned. Bryan Peterson's 'Understanding Exposure' is a good book to learn from.

Come back here in a few months time when you've read a little & learned a little more.
