Can you text on the iPhone without it being activated?
My dad gave me his iPhone4 but it's not activated so I use it as as a iPod. Can you still text your friends on it even though it's not activated?
If you have Wi-Fi and download a texting app.
Then you can text phone numbers for free while you have Wi-Fi.
Not regular texts. There are some apps that can do texting, but you and your friends would have to use the same app. Text messages travel on the cellular voice line, so without an active phone, you can't send any.
- Is there any way you can see where a text is being sent from? I think someone might be lying to me about where they are right now and I was wondering if there was any way I could see the location the text was sent from. We both have iPhones if that helps.

- I want to use an iPhone 5s without a being activated? I'm looking into buying an iPhone 5s 32gb Unlocked but I don't want to use it with a Carrier. Could I just purchase a SIM Card off of Amazon and use it with that? Also I really just want to use it like an iPod Touch. Also please don't say like hey don't be retarded you just buy an iPod, well all I have to say is that I want the iPhone 5s A7 Chip which is really cool so that is why. So if anyone can please help me out that would be nice.
- How to receive text messages on iphone without cellular data activated? I have the iPhone 5, and the lowest size cellular data plan. I want to be able to receive all these group text messages without having to activate my celluar data plan, and when I do activate my plan, I want to fix my phone from updating with 60 new messages from the last night that never reached me because my plan was off. =/ Can I do this? I run with At&t.
