How to receive text messages on iphone without cellular data activated?
I have the iPhone 5, and the lowest size cellular data plan. I want to be able to receive all these group text messages without having to activate my celluar data plan, and when I do activate my plan, I want to fix my phone from updating with 60 new messages from the last night that never reached me because my plan was off. =/ Can I do this? I run with At&t.
During group messages you are more than likely using iMessage, which requires data.So, a quick solution would be to turn on Wi-Fi. If that's not available, turn off iMessages(Check sources).
- Why don't I receive messages unless my cellular data is on? I got this iPhone 3 months ago. It's the 5th one. This constant problem is that sometimes I don't get messages unless my Cellular data is turned on. I need to fix this cause its really annoying. Like for example 10 ppl texted me on Christmas Day saying merry Christmas. On January 4 I turned on cellular data while in my car & then I got them all! And it's crazy because It had the date of Christmas & the exact time.
- Why don't I receive alerts or a notification when I receive a text and I already checked my settings? I adjusted my setting and even put the ringer and notifications on and put the volume and ringer on and I receive no alert, no pop up, alert or notification when someone texts me. Why? This is the iPhone X! I went to the cell phone/ carrier store and they didn't help me. They said to go to the apple store or check the settings. I already adjusted the settings. So what do I do now?
- Why do i only receive pic msgs when my cellular data is on? I have an iphone 4s from verizon and for some reason i only receive group msgs and pic msgs when my cellular data is on. I have limited, but when my Wi-Fi is on (most of the time) i never get pic msgs why?
- When you have Wi-Fi and cellular data on at the same time, does it use cellular data? If I keep my cellular data on and also have my iPhone connected to Wi-Fi, will it use any of my cellular data?
