Can you turn off internet on an iphone 5?

I don't know if this even makes sense,
but basically I've had my iphone 5 for about a month now and it's the 1st time i'm having a phone that doesn't have unlimited features. I kind of forget sometimes, and my mind doesn't process that i'm using my phone without Wi-Fi! So, my question is, can you somehow turn off internet? Like, is there a way that you can make your phone practically "out of service" temporarily, only allowing phone calls, text messaging, and internet IF i'm connected to Wi-Fi?

I just want something easy, like a switch of a button in the settings app. Nothing that will change or ruin my phone, obviously.

I've already turned of LTE, now is there anything else i can do?

Also, I've been wondering for a while now, does pandora drain your data? And i don't just mean using the app for like half an hour. I mean using the app for maybe 2 hours a day--in like long car rides. Cause if it does, I need to stop using it immediately!

Added (1). But the thing is, BKLFC7, i don't even pay attention to if i'm on Wi-Fi or not because i'm not used to this. So when I'm on LTE or 4g, my data is being drained. So is there a way that I can just turn off internet and only use it when i'm connected to Wi-Fi?

If you are connected to Wi-Fi, the iphone will always use the Wi-Fi ahead of the 3/4G, you just don't notice it

Turn off the cellular data and 3g/4g on your iphone. Then your iphone will only connect to Wi-Fi.

I think really the best thing you can do is re-enable the LTE, that was pointless, and to basically hide your safari app in a folder or something, just don't use it unless you're connected to Wi-Fi, however any apps that you can't use when you're in airplane mode USE DATA. Pandora, uses lots of data, I also found that out the hard way xD you can also just keep an eye on your data by downloading the verizon data app in the App Store.

I just got an iPhone 4 two days ago and I'm noticing the battery isn't the greatest so I'm reading reviews on how to save the battery life and someone said to turn off 3G. What is 3G, what does it do and can I still use the internet if I turn it off? My plan is just prepaid, no data, I only use the internet when I'm in Wi-Fi range.

The lock button at the top of my iphone is broken, but i have been using it fine as i have turned on 'Assistive Touch' and have been using the white dot that appears on screen. However, I'm worried about turning it off, and surely the white dot will disappeaer when the phone is off, and I will have no way of turning it on? Am I correct in thinking this?
  • If you turn off cellular data on an iphone, does it still charge you? On an iPhone, you can turn off the cellular data. Under Settings; General; Network it gives you the option to turn off all cellular data. If you do that, does it still charge you monthly for data?
