Can you update an unlocked iPhone 3s without it becoming unlocked?

I got an iPhone 3s (unlocked) and I want to know if I can update it without it becoming unlocked?

There's no iPhone 3S. Its called 3GS & nope to the question It will lock once updated since the unlock was not supposed to be there in the 1st place. You can, if available, put the unlock back in place once the update is complete.

So I went to a friends phone retail store he unlocked my iPhone through a company wich gives u the code to unlock and then he connected it wit Net10 (AT&T).
