Can you use a blocked Iphone 5 or unblock it?
I just bought a new iphone 5 from someone today. Its never been used or even switched on. I was guna get it unlocked but iv just been told that the man who sold it to me got it as a contract phone and ripped the contract off so i'm gathering that the network provider will block the phone? Will they? And also if they do can i get the EMEI unblocked? If not is it useless?
If it is reported or considered Stolen - yes it will network blocked all across Europe.
IMEI (international Mobile Equipment Identity) will be blacklisted at some point
(it may get grey listed - temporary blocked first, in case he 'finds' or pays for it)
and if the person has reported it lost / not paid and now sold it
he is guilty of fraud…
and once you 'know' that, you can be held liable for recieving stolen goods.
Ask for your money back, and tell him to keep the phone.
A barred phone is when a phone is reported as lost or stolen to a network or when there's a contract dispute (as in this case) and its IMEI (serial) number is blocked. This makes the phone unusable across all networks with any SIM card. The only way to unbar a phone is for the original owner who originally asked it to be barred or who had the contract agreement to contact the network asking for it to be reactivated.
Unless the original owner of the phone asks for it to be unbarred, it can't be unbarred. It is permanently barred across all networks with all SIMs.
- Would restoring my iPhone unblock any blocked numbers? All of my iPhone contacts have been bloked I have a k9 app on my computer and a find my iPhone app and the app store is disabled I need to know if restoring the iphone would unblock all the blocked numbers if I tried calling them after restoring it?
- Will blocked numbers on my iphone stay blocked when I get a new iphone? My girlfriend blocked a number of a person she wasn't supposed to be talking to. She swore up and down she did. She got a new phone and months later that number called. Did she lie to me. She uses the same icloud account, the same phone number.
- Lost iPhone - blocked imei - now found, can I unblock? I lost my iPhone but someone kindly returned it to the hotel I lost it at. I reported it stolen/ missing at the time and it got blocked- obviously I can't really afford a brand new iPhone 5 when this one is fine but now my sim doesn't work (no signal just 3G) if I go to O2 with proof it's me will they unblock it for me?
- Is their a way to unblock a blocked iphone? I believe the phone was reported lost so i wanted to know, if something could be done that will let me be able to call and text. Or if i'm waisting time and should just get my money back from where i got the phone.
