Change serial number iphone 4s?
My girlsfriends iphone 4s was stole. We checked kijiji and found an add with a visually similar phone (had the same screen protector etc.) I went to go check it out and even the bubbles in the protector were the same. However in settings>about the serial number was different. My question is, is it at all possible for someone to change the serial in which case this could be hers. That being said she never set up icloud, hence tracking it was never an option.
You can't change a serial number. The serial number is the phones identity in a way.
It is impossible to change the serial number. You would have to open the phone and replace the entire circuit board with a board from another phone.
