My iPhone Serial Number (IMEI) has been blocked?

I bought an iPhone off someone and the serial number (IMEI) has been blocked. It is on T - Mobile network. What can I do to get it un blocked? Can I get it unlocked to all networks if i pay for it as i have a Vodafone contract and would like to use it in the iPhone

I'm sorry but this is not possible. When a phone is blocked like this, it is IMEI blacklisted across all networks. Whoever sold it to you is a thief or an insurance fraudster. Either they stole the phone from someone (or found it somewhere), and the original owner has had it blocked; or they are the owner and they have contacted their insurance company and their network to report the phone stolen. By doing this, their insurance will give them a replacement phone, leaving them with your cash and a new phone, and leaving you out of pocket and with no working handset. Assuming you know who sold you this phone, you need to speak to them and demand your money back. If you bought it from a car boot sale, or a "man in the pub" type of scenario, then you will be out of pocket, as the phone will never work. You can report it to the police, but there's no guarantee that you will get your money back, and the police will confiscate the phone from you, as you don't own it.

To unblock it, you can jailbreak it i think!

So it is a Stolen one!

That is why it has been blacklisted
Your best bet is to report it (and the person who sold it to you) to the Police and the t-mobile.

it is a common fraud
- take out a contract and get a expensive phone
- sell the phone (working)
then one of
- cancel the contract Or
- if they used someone elses credit card, wait for them to find out
- report it stolen

and the poor person who bought it, now has a useless phone.

and no, it will be blocked in all networks in Europe and many other countries
They share the lists, to prevent more fraud/benefit from this fraud.

go chase the people down,
the least you can do for the money you lost - you may even get some back (but yes, not a lot of chance)

And no, it is illegal to change the IMEI even if you can do it
plus any network that sees the same number in two places, will block both.

  • Is it safe to give my iPhone IMEI and serial #s? I sold my old iPhone 4 on ebay and some guy is asking for the Serial and IMEI He has not paid for the item yet and I'm wondering if he can do anything malicious with this information that may prohibit the sale to himself or future buyers if he decides not to pay.
  • IMEI or serial number on broken iPhone? So, I had an iPhone, the contract ended and it didn't have service, then I dropped and broke it. I'm selling it for parts. How do I find the serial number or IMEI? As I mentioned before, it DID NOT have service because the contract ended
  • How to transfer my number to my new iPhone from my old one since I didn't get a serial number? I had an iPhone 5 that got damaged so I had to get a new one from the Apple store. I use Straight Talk and it says on their website that I have an incorrect serial number. The Apple store didn't give me one and the serial number that's in my new phone doesn't work. Straight Talk says to use the serial number from the card that is given to you, but I didn't get a card.
  • How to tell if my number has been blocked on an iphone? I'm trying to reach someone. They have not responded to my texts. I called today, it rang once, and was sent to voicemail. He has an iphone 5. If I'm blocked, would it ring at all or go straight to voicemail with no ringing?
