Creating an Application for Diabetes?
I'm a final year student wanting to create an application for Diabetes type 2 for my dissertation. As there are already many applications out there that monitor Diabetes but i would be grateful if you could please provide some suggestions as to what additional functionality would be good or something useful that I could take into consideration.

I'd like something that not only estimated my A1c, but provided my meal and daily blood sugar averages along with a standard deviation so that I know my blood sugar range. I'd also like alerts as to high and low patterns, as well as reminders to test my blood sugar that I can set, like an alarm clock. Medication reminders would be nice for diabetics who are taking many different types, especially if we could check them off on the application as we take them. If the application could estimate the nutritional content of my meals (like if I enter 3 ounces chicken or 2 tablespoons butter) and if the application contained nutritional facts from popular restaurants, that would be helpful. I'd like to be able to manually enter it, too, of course. Doctor's appointments are something I have trouble keeping track of, so a diabetic calendar feature for appointments, lab work, exercise, meals, etc. Would be nice.
