Dangers of Cellphone- Particularly the iPhone?

Okay, so I've heard a lot about cell phone emission and radiation this Afternoon, and it has me frightened. I love my iPhone. But my problem isn't talking on it, it's texting. Is texting as dangerous? I keep my phone away from my body, yet, I'am skeptical because I think of emission through my fingers. I do not want to have cancer, and it really has me upset. Any good advice?

Remember that classic "this is your brain on drugs" commercial, with the egg frying in a pan? If you soon see a "this is your brain on cell phones" clip, don't say we didn't warn you: Cell phone radiation may be slowly sautéing your noodle, finds new research published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences… >Read for the details… Http://news.menshealth.com/cell-phone-brain-damage/2012/12/18/

I just wouldn't hold any cellphone on my ear for extended time, too many unknowns when you can easily just use speaker or headset plugin. Iphone has a fantastic speaker by the way, even those listening on the other end say it doesn't sound like speaker.

Rest easy. The whole controversy stems from a study about 25 years ago that showed the incidence of two forms of brain cancer, gliomas and astrocytomas, were doubled in electrical workers. That was a very frightening find, one that spurred strict EMF regulations in the EU.

A few years ago a much larger study was completed, one that lasted nearly the two decades since the original study. The new study showed no correlation (actually a minute negative correlation) between exposure to EMFs and brain cancers.

No surprise there - the physics made it surprising when it was suspected. The wavelength at 60 Hz power frequencies is five million kilometers. Cell phones operate in 2 GHz range, with wavelengths around the width of your head. It is generally conceded that cancer is the result of cellular or sub-cellular processes and so would require frequencies at least a thousand times greater than your cell phone produces. That is why X-rays and gamma rays, extremely short wavelength radio waves, are known to produce cancer.

That is not to say radio transmitters are 100% safe, though. There are risks associated with high power transmitters as a result of the heating effect of the radio waves. Your iPhone is not in that category; it is just too low power. The most sensitive organs to the heating effect are the eyes (where the heating can cause cataracts) and the testes. So I don't recommend you make a habit of falling asleep with it on your eyes or… Well, I don't recommend it. But in realistic terms it is not an issue. Heating from sunshine - thermonuclear radiation so intense it warms your skin and can seriously burn it - is much more important in terms of heating your brain.

  • Will taking my iPhone to a cellphone repair shope void the warranty? There's a cell phone repair shop nearby my house. The top button of my iPhone 5 has become unresponsive. I've only had it since December. I went to the apple store, but they wanted to replace the entire phone. I thought that was crazy just for a button. Will taking my iPhone to a cell phone repair shop just to see what they say or if they can fix it end up making my warranty void?
  • Is tbere any major différence between thé iPhone 6 and the 6s? Whooppeee is Xmas again and my daughter wants new 2nd hand) iPhone… 2 years ago almost bought her 5 before i réaliséd that it was 5s she wanted ( cos thé 5 sucks?) And I don't want to screw up this year…
  • IPhone app that uses camera to alert road changes or dangers? My husband is a new CDL driver and during his training an instructor told him there was an app the used the camera on the phone to note speed limit changes, pedestrians, and risky car maneuvers. Can't find it… Any ideas, apparently it's new.
  • I need cellphone help. Iphone 4? I'm a carrier for Sprint, I have an Iphone 4, 8gb, and I noticed that neither my data or Wi-Fi will download apps as fast as it should. It takes about 20-30 minutes for each app to finish downloading. So yesterday, I took it to MacExperience, an Apple repair shop and got another iPhone as replacement, and this one is doing it too! What could be causing this? Or could it just be Sprint's network. It just doesn't make sense to have two phones in a row doing the same exact thing.
