Will taking my iPhone to a cellphone repair shope void the warranty?
There's a cell phone repair shop nearby my house. The top button of my iPhone 5 has become unresponsive. I've only had it since December. I went to the apple store, but they wanted to replace the entire phone. I thought that was crazy just for a button. Will taking my iPhone to a cell phone repair shop just to see what they say or if they can fix it end up making my warranty void?
It will void the warranty if he's not authorized by Apple to do repairs. It's just best to go to Apple and get a replacement handset under the warranty. It's totally free that way. You'll have to pay this other guy to repair it and what if something else worse happens? You'll be stuffed. Apple can tell if their devices have been opened and touched by anyone other than themselves. Just go to Apple. Once it's out of warranty you can go where you like for repairs.
Go to apple, that way you keep the warranty and they do it right
- Will scratches and minor dents void my iPhone 4's warranty? Yesterday I called apple because my lock screen button had been pushed in, I was told that as long as it hadn't been dropped, which it hadn't, that it should be replaced at the spot but I'd have to bring it into an apple store. Now what's worrying me is that there's a few scratches around my lock button because I used to like wearing long acrylic nails and using them to take debris out of in between the button. Will this void my warranty in any way?
- Will getting my iPhone 4S unlocked by my carrier void my warranty? I'm currently on T-Mobile, but wish to switch to GiffGaff. If I ring up T-Mobile and pay the required cost to get it unlocked, will it void my warranty?
