Declining my payment method on iphone?

I tried to download a free app on the apple App Store and it told me to sign in to my account so I did. Then it said my payment method is wrong try something else?! Why? It's a debit card and it hasn't ran out of money?! And the app was free. It worked perfectly fine before.

I've seen this sometimes, i've read that you can contact your "bank" and make sure they accept the "check" that apple does to verify your info, and some will decline automatically?

You are probably just missing information or your address isn't correct, etc. Even though its free its just verifying your account, you can also choose "none" under payment method if you don't want to setup any card.

  • Will the dry rice method still work for an iphone if it has been switched on? I dropped my phone in water and immediately took it out, dried it and turned it on to see if it worked. The phone worked but there was no sound so i googled what to do and i found the dry rice method but it said that you shouldn't turn on your phone but i did (maybe for ten mins?) so i turned it off and put it in a bag full of rice. Will the sound go back to normal because i turned on my phone? Should i put in the bag of rice with the back removed and battery exposed then?

I tried changing the country but it wouldnt do anything and i also tried doing it from my computer on itunes and keeps telling me to put a valid paying method and i don't want that i just want no credit card and i can't get any free apps either because for some reason it still says even on free stuff to fill out the correct billing information
