Desk top won't connect to internet even though it sees the signal?
I have a laptop, iphone and desktop all using the same router. Laptop and phone connect perfectly, no problems. My desktop worked perfectly as well until the end of February. OS is XP and it sees the signal but won't connect. It is also having issues updating my NVIDIA video card (not sure if this is a related issue). I have Webroot spy sweeper/ antivirus on my machine and I have run the program and I never find issues. In the mean time I have it connected via Ethernet in order to diagnose.
I have done the following:
Reset router followed by computer restart (multiple times)
Restored my desktop to January (before it stopped working)
Reinstalled all current XP updates after restore (still can't update video card)
Rest IP address (laptop and phone still work)
I tried using Malwarebytes and my computer would not run it (kept saying there was an error)
I can't uninstall Java (I thought maybe my computer got the virus from a while back through Java)
Any thoughts?
Try enabling DHCP in the modem. A LAN IP conflict can be solved this way.

- Why isn't the Wi-Fi on my iPhone 4 working, even though the signal is strong? It worked this morning. It worked when I went out for lunch (Starbucks has free Wi-Fi, duh.). And it worked when I went shopping (at Target. However, when I came back home around late afternoon it stopped working. I have Wi-Fi in my house, and even when the signal is strong, it just keep loading it. No usual checkmark that shows it works. The Wi-Fi works fine on my brother's 3DS and we already checked the home computer router. I just don't know what's wrong.
- Why is my crush laughing when he sees me? In the morning he saw me and was laughing Walking to the bus he was acting all crazy and lagging I had my iPhone and his mate was stopping him from coming close to me to look what I was doing on my iPhone
- Why Iphone 4S won't read T-mobile Sim card even though factory unlocked? I have an iphone 4S and it reads Att sim card no problem, i had the phone factory unlocked and it even said Congratulations your iPhone is unlocked after i restored it in iTunes, but all it says is no service i tried two different T-Mobile sim cards. I even checked my imei number online and it said the phone was factory unlocked. Is there anything i can try, i've never ran across something like this.
- No internet on laptop even though it says connected? Internets always worked fine but now nothing. I've tried wireless and cable on my home internet, i've tried using my iphones hotspot and it always says connected but nothing works. Its definitely not my internet as everything else connected works. And i can still ping websites in command prompt but thats it. Can anyone help? Really not keen on buying a new laptop…
