Did i reset everything on the iphone 5?

I returned an iphone 5 yesterday to the person who sold it to me through gumtree. I was in a rush to reset everything so my fb info, emails etc would be deleted… All i remember was tapping into settings then resetting the phone but there was several to choose from (don't remember exactly which one i went into… ) the iphone turned off, then turned back on with the apple logo and a loading bar underneath… After a while, a gray screen came up saying "IPhone" as the lock screen. When i unlocked it, it asked for Wi-Fi details.did i delete everything off the phone?

Nope give iPhone a Wi-Fi so that it could download backup from. Icloud or connect it to computer I know this stuff pretty well

There are two types of main resets outside of restoring the phone through a computer which would wipe it clean. Either erase all content and settings which erases the content in the phone or reset all setting which resets all your personal settings to factory but your personal content and media remains.

Although if it asked for that you most likely did an erase all content and settings since reset all setting while eraseing your Wi-Fi settings would not ask for them back right away.

In my opinion, you should not do anything if you are confused, first ask to the person to whom that phone is related before and then take some actions.
