Did you hear about Apple shutting down iTunes?

Now, how will people transfer music to their iPods

I think that maybe you misunderstood.

Fake News

Yes. It seems that three new desktop apps will be unveiled - Music, TV and Podcasts - to house and manage the data. This will match the format already used on iPhones and iPads which do not use iTunes.

Yes, I did hear about that. And it hadn't occurred to me. But I guess that if you want you can keep the application iTunes on your computer but you will also have the same applications as you do on your iPhone - music, podcasts, and… TV?

I still have an iPod Nano that i use for music and podcasts. My iphone is still compatible with the music part of iTunes but don't use the computer for podcasts on my phone but the built-in podcast app.

But it will be interesting to see how they handle the transition process for us older guys. My computer's podcast and music library are both a mess. So I wouldn't even blame Apple if the transition is bumpy (for me).

There will be replacements, of some sort. As far as I can figure out, they are mainly removing the facility to purchase music, rather than stream it.

The existing or final version of itunes should still allow syncing your own music and backing up iphones/ipods etc., and if not there are other utilities to do those such as Syncios or Ibackupbot.

If you had done your research you would find reports that iTunes are being closed for years.

Guess what it is still going strong.

Why do you take notice of foolish posts by idiots?

I highly doubt it

The iTunes store is different than iTunes software which manages your music and videos.

There would be a new Music app which should be the one that manages that.
