Digital camera but no computer? - 1
I want to buy a digital camera as a gift for a friend, but he has no computer.
He has one of the latest iPhones if that changes anything.
I've seen ones with Wi-Fi connections, but I'm just no technology savvy, and i want to purchase something that he can work with.
Any thoughts or reviews on the Canon PowerShot ELPH 190 IS?
Go to electronic stores like Best Buy and ask one of there workers they help you and advise you and help you choose which one would be best.
Canon indicates that this camera has the ability to connect via a wireless LAN. If your friend has an 802.11 wireless access point in his home that is used by his phone to access Internet wirelessly, the Canon camera can also be set to access this same wireless access point, putting the two devices on the same LAN. Further the camera and the phone can then use some photo storage site to transfer camera pictures to the site then use the mobile phone to also access these stored pictures. I have not checked but it is possible that if the phone and the camera are on the same Local Area Network (LAN) you may be able to access the camera directly from the phone - and this would also be helpful. Having said the above, if you like the camera for its camera features, it is highly likely the mobile phone can be configured to work w the camera.
