Do android phones need anti virus?
So I'm making the jump from iPhone to android, do I need anti virus or can androids get viruses?
Most Android phones come complete with the security provided by their carrier. While the Linux and Android system doesn't catch viruses to any great extent there's still the possibility that you can plug your telephone into your Windows computer and dumped a bunch of viruses from your cell phone on tier Windows computer. And to be quite honest the Apple operating system gets attacked far more than Android. You don't attack what is free!
Android phones are significantly more vulnerable to getting virus's compared to iPhones because they allow unsigned programs to be installed. Even more so Google also isn't quite as good as Apple at finding questionable apps within their own Google play store. That said if you don't allow anyone access else to it and don't install questionable apps then your risk is very low. Antivirus is generally not going to help you much anyway other than slow down your phone. You just need to practice good usage habits.
You don't need an anti virus/anti malware program, but you do need to be careful. Android is pretty good at a lot of things, but not so much on security. You have to be careful when downloading apps. Even apps that seem legitimate may contain malicious code.
I have owned an Android OS phone since 2008, started with the US version of the HTC Dream. Loved that keyboard. Since 2008, have never once needed anti virus on my phones. Don't save cookies or allow apps to randomly install other apps. Always do custom installs, so you know for the most part, nothing else is being downloaded.
Yes…
You don't need to download virus protection for your android because it alway has one on it already.
Yes, they are susceptible to viruses.
You can pretty well avoid viruses
by using the phone for calls and texts Only ---
no infernalnettin'.
No they do not sorry
I know the answer to your question but will not answer it. Because your question is irrational. It is not difficult to ask questions.
No the antivirus themselves slow down the devices.
- Why Iphone is faster than android phones? First of all, I'm NOT FANBOY! I have Galaxy s3 and my mother has Apple Iphone 4s. No matter what the hardware and the specs.her phone never EVER has delay or lags… I mean wtf? I have quad-core processor with 1gb ram. And that iphone has dual core processor… My GS3 should be twice as fast… But it isn't. Can someone please explain this to me. But in simple words, because i don't know very much about cell phones.
- Switching phones on Verizon.iPhone and android? A person who is on my family plan is using their phone upgrade to get an iPhone 5. I currently have a Galaxy Nexus. When the new iPhone is activated on their number, can we then switch phones so I would have the iPhone and my original number, and they have the Nexus? Does the iPhone to android factor affect this switch.
- Is there an anti virus or malware scan I can get on my iPhone 4? Is there an anti virus or malware scan for the iPhone 4 that I can get from the apple store? If so what's the name? Also is there something I can get to stop ads poppin up on games?
- If an iPhone somehow got a virus, what would stop that virus from spreading to the recovery image? If an iPhone got a virus, couldn't it just spread to the recovery image? I don't mean where you connect the iPhone to your computer and restore through iTunes. I mean the restore image that is actually on the iPhone.
