Do Apple updates take up space or delete photos?
I have an iPhone 4 and I haven't updated it for a while. Right now the software is IOS7 and I want to update it because I bunch of my apps had updates that require IOS8 or later. I was wondering if Apple updates take up space and if they delete photos from the camera roll.
Well yes, updates do take up space. Depending on the upgrade, you may loose all data, or it may just update the OS itself and nothing else.
As always, have a back up before doing anything. You'll regret not backing a backup if for some reason your information gets deleted.
Another thing, the iPhone 4 can only update to iOS 7.1.2, so if you already have it, you can't go any further than that.
- Why won't the Apple store allow me to see my updates? I have an iPhone 3GS on iOS 6.1.2, and I'm having trouble with the app store. I can download new apps, and I can see the red number 4, letting me know that I have 4 new updates. However, the updates section stays blank and will not show me what apps need to be updated! What do I do! Is anyone else having this problem!
- Why does my small amount of photos take up so much space? On my iPhone 7, I have only 76 pictures/videos. When I click manage storage, it says that they take up 1.3 gb of space, while my friends have hundreds of photos but when they click manage storage, it only takes up a couple hundred mb. Why do the photos take up so much space on my phone or how can I fix this problem?
- Why does my photos take space on my iPhone? I noticed my photos took 3GB of space so I deleted them all. I go check my space again and it says my Photo Library takes 1.8GB
- Why does my iphone say my photos take up so much space? I have only like 300 photos in my iphone and it still says that it takes up 4GB and its frustrating since i've already deleted over 700 photos and my phone still does indicate much change of my storage space. Could it be that there's some hidden location all my photos have been saved or something?
