Do I get charged for iMessage to iMessage?
I'm from Toronto Canada but I'm in Buffalo for a vacation. My friend uses iphone and ipod with iMessage and I only use the Wi-Fi in the hotel. Would I get charged for this?
No, iMessage is a free service.

iMessage is free for you and anyone that is using iMessage over Wi-Fi and its unlimited.
The only thing that you'll get charged for is when you use data, but since you're using the hotel's Wi-Fi that are usually free, you don't need to pay anything.

No iMessge is totally free however, it does use a bit of internet not much though. Probably less than WhatsApp.
