Do I have a right to be mad?

My mom and dad just got my sister who's a year older than I a new iPhone, when I ask them for a cellphone they say we don't have enough money, I'm angry because my sister has had a cellphone for 4 years and I still don't have one, I'm not mad that she got an iPhone I really could care less, but I'm mad at my parents because they say they don't have any money to buy me a cellphone but they can get my sister (there favorite daughter) an expensive phone, do I have a right to be mad? How do I talk to my parents about this?

Well, you might feel mad but there really isn't anything that you can do because you're probably under the age of 18, you live in the home of your parents which they pay for, and they are the adults making the decisions. If your sister gets an iPhone, then your sister gets an iPhone and you get zip.

But remember, when you are older and getting ready to marry or anything, you can come up with the guest list and make sure that your parents aren't invited. That way, when they outrageously ask you, "WHY?!" you can respond, "Oh, we didn't have any money left over for you guys to be invited."

It's perfectly normal and reasonable to get upset by try not to get angry. Ask them, when your sister is out, to speak them and tell them that you would like a phone. Give them at least two of three responsible reasons why and assure them you will be sensible. If they say something along the lines of not having enough money etc remind them that they just bought your sister a new phone and if they could get you one of go halves with you when they have enough money. But when you're speaking stay calm and show them that you are responsible and mature.
