Do i have to pay to activate an iphone?
I have a iphone 4, if i were to buy an iphone 4s on ebay, would i have to pay to activate it? If so how much? (I don't know if it makes a difference but i have AT&T)
Nope. Plug in your SIM card (for your account) to the new phone. Plug the new phone into a PC with iTunes open. Activated. Done.
Just buy a phone that is compatible with your carrier or an unlocked phone. An unlocked iphone will work with any carrier like AT&T or T-mobile. In this case, go buy a iphone that says either (unlocked) or (AT&T) so that it'll work with your phone. You will still maintain the same plan as you old phone when you transfer the SIM. Also, you might need to go to your AT&T store to get a SIM card if yours do not fit the iPhone 4S since iPhones have been using microsims.
- What's the reason why you have to have a SIM card to activate an iPhone? What if I want to use my phone after my plan gets canceled. Is that legal without a sim? And is it legal to use someone's sim to activate it if my phone software brakes. But what's the reason that you need one to get into the iPhone? That doesn't seem right at all to not allow someone to get into an iPhone that has one.
- Verizon upgrade fee? Can I pay at the store or do I have to pay it the next bill? I plan on upgrading my phone and renewing my contract next month in January. I plan on getting the iPhone 5s. I'm on this family plan with one line. Is there's an activation fee that I have to pay? Can I pay the upgrade fee at the store while purchasing the new phone? Or do I have to pay it on the next bill?
- My iPhone 5 says I need a sim card to activate, and I have Verizon I was trying to restore my phone and in the process of doing that it now is asking for me to insert a sim card. I have Verizon and we don't require sim cards. What is my next step? Also, my phone has not yet been activated. This requiring of the sim card is keeping me from activating it.
- Is pay as you go better than pay monthy for an iphone? I can either can an iphone 4 (32gb with small scratch on screen) for 100 pounds and then have a pay as you go sim or an 8gb iphone 4 for "effectively 14.88 a month". Which works out the better deal?
