Do I need to learn Objective C before using Xcode?
I want to start developing iphone/ipad applications. I'm watching some tutorials online that guide me through Xcode and I have managed to create some very simple applications. I was wondering though, will the tutorials give me enough information about how to develop apps? Or will I need to learn Objective C to create complex applications?
You can basically draw an interface in Xcode but to get it to actually do stuff you need the basics of objective-C.
The tutorials that I've seen online really suck, they're made by amateurs who don't really understand what they are doing or why. When you hear "just because" you might as well turn it off and/or look somewhere else.
- What's the best way to learning Objective-C for developing iPhone apps? C/C++ first? From where? How long will this take for a relatively simple app (somewhat like a workout logger application)?
- Want to learn coding. C before Obj-C? And where to begin? I want to learn objective-C so that I can eventually get to where I can make iPhone apps. Would it be beneficial to learn C before Objective-C or would it just be a waste of time? Also, where should I begin with C/Obj-C? With books, YouTube videos, or what?
- Should I learn objective-c or python? I'm just getting into computer programming. I have a macbook pro for my main computer and I was wanting to be able to make an A. I. (for an end project) but I'm not sure if I wanna use objective-c or python. I already know a little bit of python. But not enough to make it. I would like to to be ran on both windows and mac. But I also want to make an iphone app with it.
- Should I learn Objective-C or Java? I'm planning on developing for mobile phones (more interested on iPhone). Which of these two languages be easier to learn? And easy to use? I develop for windows (C#) btw.
