Do text messages get lost while you restore an iPhone?
While I'm restoring my iPhone (process took a couple hours) and someone were to text me during that time, would I get those texts messages when I'm finished restoring and the iPhone turns back on? Or is there a chance those messages get "lost" or never delivered
No, not at all. Your text messages will remain there. However, other applications might be affected or lost.
They are held in queue until your phone is ready to receive them.

I could feel text alerts coming in as I took it to get repaired, unfortunately the only backup I had was from before those texts were sent so i no longer have them on my phone. Is there a way I can view the texts that were sent to me while my display was broken?
