Do you still have to connect to Wi-Fi to download on iphone 5s or 5c? - 1

I currently have an iphone 4 and can't use facetime or skype or even update my phone because it says it requires Wi-Fi. Have they changed this with the new iphone or no? I'm going to upgrade my phone and this is going to make or break my decision. I mean seriously WTF would I need Wi-Fi to do things the phone is capable of doing? If I had ***ing Wi-Fi in the first place I would just use the computer and not the phone. It makes my blood completely boil had I known that in the first place I would have just stuck with the Android.

You can FaceTime without Wi-Fi on 4S and up, but you can't update firmware. Get a mobile hotspot if you want Wi-Fi on the go.

  • If your iphone have a bad ESN can you connect to Wi-Fi and download like a ipod? Because i saw that a iphone i want online has a bad ESN but will i still be able to connect to Wi-Fi and download games and more like song and just use it as a ipod cause i have a ipod well 2 but i want a iphone just to say i have one and i don't want to activate it so i don't care if the Esn is bad or not i just want to know if i can connect to Wi-Fi and stuff?

I want an Iphone for facetime, the camera, the music, apps etc. When you buy the phone and the charger can you still do all these things or do you need a phone plan? I would also want to text but I don't think I can do that without a phone plan. My dad won't let me call on it until I'm 12 and I'm 11:( So can somebody give me the details?
