Does a straight talk iphone use Tmobile and AT&T at the same time?
I'm wondering if I get a straight talk iphone, will it just use one or the other? Or can I set it up to use both in case I don't get reception from one carrier? Would i have to do something funky with the APN?
Unfortunately, you can't set your phone up to switch networks as your service gets spotty. It's actually a benefit to having a service with an MVNO… Having access to multiple networks opposed to just one.
Once you set the APN do not change it unless you get a different sim card and are instructed to change the APN settings.
Your phone will be assigned to one network. Your phone should search for the closest network to use. But this does not always happen. If you have problems with one network not getting service where you live, you can call Straight Talk and complain until they switch you to a different network.
Just remember that if your phone uses AT&T towers for service the data is limited to 1.5GB. You only have unlimited data if your phone uses T-Mobile (or Sprint, for some Straight Talk branded phones).
- Will a straight talk iPhone work on Tmobile? I want to buy a new one from Walmart but want to keep my Tmobile Plan and not go to Straight Talk, will it work if I insert my sim?
- When you have Wi-Fi and cellular data on at the same time, does it use cellular data? If I keep my cellular data on and also have my iPhone connected to Wi-Fi, will it use any of my cellular data?
- To use an AT&T iPhone 4S with straight talk, does it need to be unlocked? I'm going to switch my iPhone 4S over from AT&T to straight talk. I'm unsure wether the phone needs to be unlocked or not. Some blogs say it doesn't, some suggest it. I've had mixed answers from straight talk reps. I don't know what to think! Does it need to be unlocked or not to use the phone with straight talk?
- My mom and i got the same phone and same plan yet her internet loads all the time and mine never does? Two iPhone 7+. Same unlimited data plan. Yet literally no matter where I'm, nothing that uses data loads unless I'm connected to Wi-Fi. Yet my mom's internet loads no matter where she is. It's even happened that we're in the same place trying to load the same thing and hers loads while mine doesn't. Yes, I have my data turned on. I've made sure all my data settings are identical to my mom's. So i really don't know what could be causing this.
