Does an iPhone necessarily need a data plan?
Ok well I just read a question that was answered about an iPhone, does it need a data plan? And the answer said not really, I'm not sure about that but if I got an iPhone and didn't get a data plan could I still access the Internet (safari)
You could access anything if you had Wi-Fi, but you'd need data if you didn't have Wi-Fi.

If you don't have a data plan then all you can do is txt and call. NO internet, apps.nothing else
If you did not get a data plan, then you would still be able to acess the Internet when you are on a Wi-Fi network. I don't know which one you plan on using, but as far as I know it all the cellular providers require that you get a data plan with the iPhone.So, if you are planning to get one, then you really do need a data plan in order to have the service.

Yes all iPhones used as a phone HAVE to have a data plan no madder what but if you didn't want it as a phone and just wanted the games and stuff that comes with it use it as an iPod pretty much but it can get pretty expensive because you would have to buy it without a contract and that could be over 600 dollars so get one and ebay or Craigslist and use it as an i pod but if you want it as a phone then yes you would have to have a data plan which would cost around 20-25 bucks a month hope it helped
