Does MetroPCS flash IPhones?
They used to and it was part of their Metro Flash program but they stopped doing that. You can however, try and find a store that will do it or do it yourself by going to a forum ( The iPhone Developers Forum has a section for sure about this issue). They will teach how to flash the device and what not and also get 3G on the iPhone while on Metro's network. Do understand that flashing a phone can make certain features of that device (like MMS or internet) to no longer work.

Because of this my parents were talking about getting me the iphone. It can be AT&T because i checked on their site and they tell you if the phone compatible or not. The sim card is a regular sim card (not a micro or a nano sim card). I'm aware that if i purchase a sim card cutter, that i can convert my regular sim card into a nano sim card. If i insert this new MetroPCS nano sim card into an unlocked Iphone 5, would my MetroPCS service work on my Iphone?
