Does NavFree use data when gps is enabled?
Hi, I've recently downloaded the Navfree app for my Iphone 4S as I heard it didn't use up any of my phones data whilst navigating. I tried it out yesterday and noticed that in the Settings menu, it had an option to select whether the GPS is enabled or not. I switched off the GPS and returned to the map but my speed was no longer showing up and the map wasn't tracking my movement so I switched the GPS back on which corrected these problems.
I just want to know if using the GPS uses up my phones data?
You 'need' GPS enabled - or how will it know where it is?
and give you your position on the map?
GPS is not Data, it is Global Positioning - it listens the GPS satalites
and no, it does not use data, it has already pre-loaded the maps when you installed it
- Will the next iPhone be NFC enabled? I'm just wondering whether NFC capability will be introduced in the iPhone 5S when it is launched.
- Will 0.86 gb of data be enough to use iPhone gps? I'm an on call nanny, and only have 6 days left of my plan. However, I just got a few jobs. I only have 0.86gb of data left. And I will probably need my gps for a total time of like 1 hour between all the jobs. I have an iPhone 6, and I use standard view.
- When you turn Wi-Fi on with a 3G enabled iphone, does your phone stop using 3G? When youre in a Wi-Fi hot spot and you switch the Wi-Fi switch on, does the 3G stop being used or does it continue to go down even while the Wi-Fi is on? Should I switch the 3G switch off when Wi-Fi is on to conserve data?
- Is there an easy way to get my MMS enabled with straight talk? I have an unjailbroken, unlocked, iphone 4 with the iOS 6.0.1 update. I use a microsim from the carrier straight talk, everything runs great on the phone except MMS. Every time I try to send a picture to someone that doesn't have iMessage, it says delivery failure. Apparently this is common with most iphone straight talk carriers, how can i enable this?
